Canara Bank’s Special Fixed Deposit Scheme for Super Citizens offers a high interest rate of 8% per annum on deposits with a tenure of 444 days. A super citizen is a person above 80 years of age.
Information about this scheme was given on the bank’s website that 0.60% additional interest is also given to super senior citizens under this scheme.

Eligibility to avail this scheme
The scheme is launched for Super Senior Citizen customers only. In which 8% interest is being given on fixed deposit for a period of 444 days. There is no early withdrawal option.In this one can invest more than 15 lakh rupees and less than 2 crore rupees.

Canara Bank offers interest rates between 4 to 7.75% on callable deposits for senior citizens. The highest interest rate offered on this plan is 7.75% with a tenure of 444 days.
FD Rates for Senior Citizen (Non Callable)
Canara Bank offers interest rates between 5.30 to 7.90% on non-callable deposits for senior citizens. This plan offers the highest interest rate of 7.90% with a tenure of 444 days.
FD Rates for Very Senior Citizens (Non Callable)
Canara Bank offers interest rates between 5.40 to 8% on Non-Callable) deposits for senior citizens. The highest interest rate offered is 8% for a period of 444 days.
