ITR Filing for AY 2023-24 : As many as 14,65,641 Income Tax Returns (ITRs) were filed till May 28 on income earned in FY 2022-23, of which over 12 lakh returns have been verified. So 3834 ITRs have been verified. Salaried employees can file their returns for the assessment year 2023-24 after receiving Form 16 from their employers till June 15.
What is ITR-1?

That is, ITR-1 is filed by those who have income up to Rs 50 lakh from salary, a house property and other sources like interest etc.
Follow these steps to fill ITR
- Visit Income Tax e-Filing Portal https://www.incometax.gov.in/iec/foportal/
Login to e-filing portal by entering User ID (PAN), Password, Captcha Code. - Click on the menu ‘e-file’ and then click on the link ‘Income Tax Return’.
- After filling all the details, click on ‘Continue’.
- Carefully read all the instructions on this step and fill the mandatory details of the online ITR form. Also, click on the ‘Save Draft’ button to avoid the exercise of re-entering the data if the session expires.
- Thoroughly check the total income, deductions, taxes paid and tax liability (if any) to ensure maximum tax benefits.
- After this submit your ITR. An OTP will be sent to your mobile. Verify your filing by entering
