Monsoon Update: Big News! Heavy rain alert issued in some districts of this state, know the weather condition of your city here

Pre-monsoon rains have started in Bengal. To relieve the heat on Sunday evening, along with gusty winds, rain suddenly fell in Kolkata and adjoining areas. On Monday morning, cloudy skies are seen in various districts including Kolkata. The temperature is also relatively low. It has rained several times this morning in the city. Meteorological department forecast heavy rain in 3 districts of the state on this day.

IMD Alert: Pre-monsoon rains have started in Bengal. To relieve the heat on Sunday evening, along with gusty winds, rain suddenly fell in Kolkata and adjoining areas. On Monday morning, cloudy skies are seen in various districts including Kolkata. The temperature is also relatively low. It has rained several times this morning in the city. Meteorological department forecast heavy rain in 3 districts of the state on this day. Besides, heatwave-like conditions may develop in 6 districts.

Rains will continue in these districts

Pre-monsoon rains are going on in Bengal. A favorable environment has been created for monsoon entry. As a result, the Alipore Meteorological Department has issued a warning of heavy to very heavy rain in North Bengal. Pre-monsoon rains and heat wave will continue simultaneously in South Bengal. However, although favorable monsoon conditions have developed in three districts of North Bengal, the Meteorological Department has not yet made any announcement in this regard.

When is Monsoon coming in Bengal

Today or tomorrow there is a strong possibility of Monsoon entering North Bengal i.e. Bengal. However, the usual day of entry of Monsoon or Monsoon in Jalpaiguri is 7th June. But Bengal is getting late monsoon this time. Although favorable environment for monsoon has been created in North Bengal, the Meteorological Department has not yet announced when the monsoon will arrive in South Bengal.

Weather in North Bengal

Alpur Meteorological Department says that rain will increase in North Bengal from tomorrow. There is a warning of heavy rain at some places or very heavy rain till next Thursday. Rain warning of up to 200 mm has been issued in parts of Cooch Behar, Alipurduar, Jalpaiguri. There is a possibility of landslides due to heavy rain in the hilly areas. The Met Office forecast, warning of heavy to very heavy rain between Tuesday and Thursday. About 200 mm of rain is expected in several areas of Cooch Behar, Alipurduar and Jalpaiguri districts. Heavy rain warning in Darjeeling and Kalimpong districts from Monday to Thursday. Meanwhile, the temperature will be a little higher in Malda and South Dinajpur in the next 24 hours, creating a heatwave-like situation.

Heat wave will continue in the western districts of South Bengal. Despite the rains, the rest of the districts will continue to experience hot and uncomfortable weather. Even if there is a light rain with thunder, the discomfort will not leave the people of South Bengal behind. Heat wave will continue till Tuesday in Purulia, Bankura, Jhargram, West Medinipur, East and West Burdwan. Uncomfortable weather and heat will increase in the rest of the districts as well. Rain with thundershowers but humid discomfort will remain till Tuesday.

These districts of South Bengal will get drenched

Today Kolkata, Howrah, Hooghly, Nadia, Murshidabad, Birbhum, East Burdwan, North and South 24 Parganas and East Midnapore will receive rain with thundershowers today. Rain with thundershowers is forecast in Nadia, Murshidabad, Birbhum, East Burdwan, North and South 24 Parganas and East Medinipur on Tuesday.

Weather in Kolkata

Today the sky will be partly cloudy in Kolkata and adjoining areas. Light rain with thundershowers is likely. There will also be humidity related discomfort due to water vapor in the air. The minimum temperature in Kolkata city this morning was 27.7 degrees Celsius, 1 degree above normal. The maximum temperature yesterday was 37 degrees, 3 degrees above normal. The relative humidity in the air is 51 to 88 percent.
