Amarnath Yatra: There is good news for Amarnath pilgrims. In fact, the All Jammu Hotels and Lodges Association (AJHLA) has announced 30 per cent discount on advance booking of hotels to Jammu and Kashmir Amarnath pilgrims. Explain that the 62-day annual pilgrimage to visit Baba Himani in the holy hair of Amarnath, located at an altitude of 3,880 meters in the South Kashmir Himalayas, will begin from July 1 and will continue till August 31.
AJHLA President Pawan Gupta said, “As a goodwill gesture it has been decided to give 30 per cent discount to Amarnath pilgrims who give prior instructions to book rooms in the accommodation. Gupta told that the first aim of this is to provide cooperation and assistance to the pilgrims going on Amarnath Yatra.
2 Routes of Amarnath Pilgrimage
The holy Amarnath cave is located in southern Kashmir at an altitude of 3,880 meters above sea level in the middle of the Himalayas. There are two routes for the pilgrimage starting from July 1. One is the traditional 48 km long Nunwan-Pahalgam road in Anantnag district and the other is the shorter but inaccessible Baltal road 14 km long in Ganderbal district. The first batch of passengers will leave from Jammu on June 30.

Gupta is hopeful that this time the pilgrims will go on pilgrimage in large numbers. He has expressed hope that this exemption will help the hotel and travel industry a lot, which is very much needed at this time.
