IMD Rain Alert: India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Sunday issued Orange Alert for Raigad and Ratnagiri in Maharashtra. After heavy rains in some parts of these regions, the Meteorological Department has also issued a yellow alert for Palghar, Mumbai, Thane and the national capital Delhi and its surrounding areas.
It rained heavily in the early hours of Sunday in the national capital Delhi, Ghaziabad, Noida and Gurugram and its surrounding areas. Due to the rain, there was a drop in the rising temperature, which brought some relief from the scorching heat. The IMD has also issued a yellow alert for June 25-27 in Delhi as light to moderate rain is expected.

- Heavy rain lashed Mumbai and its suburbs on Saturday. Water-logging was reported at various places in Mumbai, affecting vehicular movement on some roads.
- According to the Regional Meteorological Centre, Mumbai city received 104 mm of rain and eastern suburbs and western suburbs received 123 mm and 139 mm of rain, respectively, in the last 24 hours.
- Earlier on Saturday, the Andheri Subway in Mumbai was closed for vehicular movement.
- Light/moderate to widespread rainfall with thunder and lightning very likely over Konkan & Goa and Madhya Maharashtra from June 25 to June 28.
- Heavy to very heavy rainfall is likely over Konkan & Goa and Ghat areas of Madhya Maharashtra during the same period.
- Light to moderate, scattered to fairly widespread rain with isolated thunder and lightning very likely over southern states of India except Tamil Nadu during next 5 days.
- According to IMD, there is a possibility of heavy to very heavy rainfall over South Interior Karnataka on June 25-6 and Kerala and Mahe on June 27.
- IMD has predicted widespread light/moderate rain with isolated thunder and lightning over Northeast and adjoining East India during next 5 days.
- According to IMD, there is also a possibility of heavy rainfall at different places in Gangetic West Bengal on 25th. Heavy rains may occur in Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura during June 25 to 28. At the same time, there may be heavy rains in Arunachal Pradesh on 28 June.
