Decision to keep schools closed till July 18 in Delhi
Normal life has been thrown out of gear due to heavy rains in Delhi in the past. A rise in the water level of the Yamuna was observed. And now the water level of Yamuna is decreasing gradually. The situation of rain and flood is still being seen in many areas of the capital Delhi. Due to which the education department has decided to keep the schools closed till July 18.
According to media reports, the water level of the Yamuna river was recorded at 6:00 am on Sunday morning at 206.14 metres. Due to the high water level in the Yamuna, a flood situation was created in many districts, due to which a holiday has been declared in schools till July 18. In areas where instructions have been given to keep schools closed. Among them, many schools in East, South East and Central Delhi have been converted into shelter homes. In such a situation, there will be a holiday in these schools.
Holidays declared for schools in Himachal
Whereas in Himachal, the monsoon vacation was extended till July 17. At the same time, it has been decided to reopen the school from Tuesday. Holidays have still been declared in some schools. Holidays in these schools have been extended for 2 days. Orders have been issued for this. In fact, due to heavy rains, roads and conditions are still not normal in many districts. In such a situation, the holiday has been extended till July 19 in these districts.
Districts where holiday has been declared. It includes Rampur, Jubbal apart from Theog and Rohru. Apart from this, orders have been given to CBSE, ICSE and affiliated schools that they can declare 1 day holiday at their level. If the weather condition is not good in the coming days, then the SDM and the local administration will be able to decide to keep the schools closed in the area.
Holidays in schools extended in Punjab as well
Apart from this, due to heavy rains in Punjab also, the situation is looking messy. Due to the rains, the roads have been filled with water. After which orders have been issued by ADC. Holidays in schools have been extended. Schools which were closed due to floods in Punjab have been opened. However, the primary school in Patiala’s Devigarh has been completely affected due to the fresh rains. Due to which instructions have been given to keep many schools closed till 19th July.
Schools in Devipur have been kept closed due to water filling all the way, it is almost difficult for the children to reach the schools.
