25% Fare Cut Of AC Coaches: The Ministry of Railways has launched a special ‘discount scheme’ on AC chair cars and executive classes of all trains including AC seating coaches including Anubhuti and Vistadome coaches. Through this initiative, Railways is offering up to 25 percent discount on AC coach fares.
In a bid to make train travel more attractive, the Ministry of Railways has decided to introduce huge discounts on AC chair cars and executive class fares of all trains including AC seating coaches. The Ministry of Railways has entrusted Zonal Railways with this power. But what are the conditions to get up to 25 percent discount on AC coach fare? Let’s find out more about this…
Conditions for availing ‘Discount’ on AC Coach Fare:
- This ‘Discount’ will be applicable on Executive Class of all trains having AC seating arrangement including AC Chair Car, Sense and Vistadome coaches.
- This discount is available up to a maximum of 25 percent on the original AC coach fare. In this case, other charges associated with the fare such as reservation charges, super fast surcharge, GST will be levied separately.
- This final concession will be given depending on the class with less than 50 percent occupancy) will be considered within the last 30 days. Public transport fare will be considered while determining the amount of discount.
- Concession may be given for first leg of journey and/or last leg of journey and/or intermediate segment and/or end to end journey, provided occupancy is less than 50 percent from that leg/segment to end.
- This discount will be effective immediately. However, those who have already booked tickets, will not get any waiver on their fare. So you will not get any money back.
- Further review will be done regularly and discount rates will be changed based on bookings. In that case, a decision will be taken to increase or withdraw the discount on this fare.
- Discount will be applicable for tickets booked till first chart of train is generated and during booking. This concession may also be approved by TTE after boarding the train.
- This special ‘discount’ on AC coach fares will not be applicable to special trains which are offered on the occasion of holidays or festivals.
- This special ‘discount’ on AC coach fare of the train will be applicable for next one year.
