ITR Offline Mode: Taxpayers file ITR offline like this, 4 days left for the last date to end

Income Tax Return Offline Filling Process: According to the Income Tax Department, the last date for filing ITR for the assessment year 2023-24 is going to end in 4 days. You can also file ITR through offline mode.

New Delhi: The number of people filing ITR for the financial year 2022-23 has registered a spurt this week, this is because 5 days are left for the last date for filing tax returns to end. According to the Income Tax Department, till July 18, more than 3 crore taxpayers have filed online ITR. If you have not filed ITR till now, file immediately to avoid penalty and notice. According to the Income Tax Department, the last date for filing ITR for the assessment year 2023-24 has been fixed as 31 July 2023 and there are about 5 days left for it to end. In such a situation, the Income Tax Department has appealed to the taxpayers to file their ITR immediately to avoid any problem.

All forms for offline ITR available on website

The Income Tax Department has issued all ITR forms for offline or manual ITR filing. These ITR forms are available on the Income Tax filing website, from where they can be downloaded and filled with the requested details.

ITR filing method in offline mode

  • To file offline ITR, taxpayers must first login to the ITR filing website https://www.incometaxindiaefiling.gov.in/home.
  • After this, you have to click on the download option, after which you will have to pay for your income.
  • Download the excel utility of the applicable ITR form accordingly.
  • The excel utility of the form will be downloaded in a zip file.
  • Now open the zip file and fill all the required columns as shown in the utility. Enter the details of income in it.
  • After this, validate all the sheets and click on Calculate Tax.
  • Now the XML utility will be generated, save it.
  • After this the excel utility can be uploaded on the portal for e-filing.
  • Complete the verification of ITR from the available 6 options and then submit the ITR form.
