New Delhi: After withdrawing the Rs 2000 note from circulation on May 19, the Reserve Bank of India has given people the facility to deposit or exchange notes in banks from May 23. The Finance Ministry has told that 75 percent of the 2000 rupee notes have reached back to the banks. Whereas, more than 40 percent of Rs 2000 notes have been converted into other denomination notes and returned to the market. Please tell that the Reserve Bank has given the deadline for depositing Rs 2000 notes in the bank till 30 September 2023.
77 percent notes deposited in banks
The Ministry of Finance has released the data regarding deposits of Rs 2000 notes in banks in the latest report. According to the ministry, about 77 percent of Rs 2000 notes have been deposited in banks. Now this note is less than 23 percent left in the market. It was told that more than 40 percent of Rs 2000 notes have been converted into notes of other denominations and entered the market.

2000 note is valid till 30 September
RBI Governor Shaktikanta Das said after the decision to withdraw 2000 rupee note that those who have 2000 note can comfortably deposit it in the bank from 23 May to 30 September or can transfer it to other Denomination is subject to change with denomination notes. During this period it is completely valid to take notes and no one can refuse to accept 2000 notes.
