Delhi Metro Ticket Update: Good news for Delhi Metro passenger, now metro ticket will also be available through UPI, know how

Delhi Metro UPI Payment: Passengers traveling in Delhi Metro can now buy tickets through UPI without using cash.

Delhi Metro UPI Payment: There is good news for lakhs of people traveling in Delhi Metro. Now you can also buy tickets from ticket vending machines or ticket counters by paying through UPI. For this earlier you had to put cash in TVM. Now this payment can also be done by scanning the QR code through the UPI app. To reduce the rush of people at ticket counters, Metro has installed automatic ticket vending machines at stations. Till now, by putting cash in it, you could get a ticket for your destination. However, this service has already been started at some railway stations of Noida and Ghaziabad. Along with this, now you can pay through UPI even at the counters.

Started from Rajiv Chowk

DMRC Managing Director Dr. Vikas Kumar started this service from Rajiv Chowk Metro Station. Jean-Marc Renaud, MD, M/s Revenue Collection Systems (Thales), France SAS and Abhay Sharma, Chief Business Officer, M/s Paytm Payments Bank Ltd. and other senior DMRC officials were also present on the occasion.

Easy to get tickets

Nowadays people have started using UPI for all their small and big needs. From shopping malls, even in grocery stores and vegetable markets, people prefer to make payments through UPI. After upgrading the machines at Delhi-NCI network stations, passengers can now recharge smart cards through UPI and buy QR tickets from their smartphones. This will also relieve them from the hassle of keeping loose money.

Service at 125 stations

DMRC was the first metro service in the country, which started this UPI service for the first time in 208 on select TVMs of Noida and Ghaziabad. Now this network is being extended further. Presently more than 125 stations have already been upgraded with TVM, which makes ticketing service easy and provides a comfortable journey to the passengers. Within a week, their number will be increased further.
