A resort collapsed due to heavy rains
Uttarakhand DGP Ashok Kumar told that a resort collapsed due to heavy rains in Mohanchatti of Pauri district, 5 people got buried. A ten-year-old girl has been pulled out alive from under the debris while four people are still buried. All these people are residents of Kurukshetra in Haryana. The search operation of the police and SDRF is going on at the spot.

Meteorological Department issued red alert
Uttarakhand DGP Ashok Kumar told that the Meteorological Department had issued a red alert. It has been raining heavily since August 12, especially in the Garhwal region. Roads are closed at all places and police and SDRF teams are on alert. Cloud burst in Chamoli and Uttarkashi Mori area. There has been heavy waterlogging in Rishikesh. We appeal to all people not to go to hilly areas.

Due to incessant rains in Uttarakhand since last night, there was water-logging at many places in the areas around Rishikesh. Life in IDPL, Shyampur, Gumani Wala, Saline Source was disrupted due to rain water. SDRF teams are engaged in rescue operations at all places and people have been shifted to safer places, said an NDRF spokesperson.
