That is, after one investment in it, you continue to get pension for the rest of your life after retirement.
The age limit for taking this policy of LIC has been fixed from 30 to 79 years. However, there is no risk cover in this scheme. But still the benefits available in it are making it very popular. The company offers two options to purchase this LIC plan. The first of these is the deferred annuity for single life and the second is the deferred annuity for joint life. That means you can invest in a single scheme if you want.
LIC’s New Jeevan Shanti Yojana is an annual plan and apart from purchasing it, you can get it by fixing your pension limit. Even after retirement, you will continue to get a fixed pension throughout your life. It pays high interest and according to the scheme, if a 55-year-old person deposits Rs 11 lakh while buying this plan and keeps it for five years, then you can get a pension of more than Rs 1,01,880 per annum on this lump sum investment. The amount of pension on six months basis will be Rs 49,911 and on monthly basis will be Rs 8,149.
Interestingly, LIC has increased the annuity rates for the new Jeevan Shanti Yojana. LIC has increased the annuity rates from 5th January 2023. Anyone can invest in this scheme. The special thing is that you can surrender this plan anytime and invest a minimum of Rs 1.5 lakh in it, there is no upper limit for this. If the policyholder dies during this period, the entire amount deposited in his account is paid to the nominee.
