Indian Railway Important News: After the incident of arson in party coach in Madurai, Railways has adopted a strict stance regarding safety. The Railway Board has issued an order on September 7 saying that the supply of food or other food items in the party coach will be done only through IRCTC.
All supplies will be from the pantry car. Even if the coaches will stand separately from the train, IRCTC will have to provide food there also. Booking will not be done in trains in which there is no availability of Pantry Car.
On behalf of Railway Board, Deputy Director Coaching A. Rangarajan has issued a letter in this regard to the chief commercial managers of all the zones and the managing director of IRCTC. It has been made clear through the letter that booking should be issued only after checking all the security aspects.
Actually, recently a bogie parked at Madurai station caught fire due to gas explosion. 10 people had died due to burns. The Commissioner of Railway Safety is investigating the entire incident in Madurai.
