Bank Holiday: Banks will remain closed for 3 days on Ganesh Chaturthi, when is the bank holiday in your city?

Ganesh Chaturthi 2023 Bank Holiday: The festive season has started. Festivals like Rakshabandhan and Janmashtami have been celebrated a few days ago, now it is the turn of Ganesh Festival. This festival starts from the day of Ganesh Chaturthi and ends on Anant Chaturdashi (Anant Chaturdashi 2023). The festival of Ganesh Chaturthi is celebrated with great pomp in all parts of the country including Gujarat, Maharashtra, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh. This time the festival of Ganesh Chaturthi will be celebrated on 19th September. On this occasion, there will be holiday in banks at different places on 18th, 19th and 20th September. Know when banks will remain closed in which city

According to the RBI calendar, banks will remain closed everywhere as September 17 is Sunday. There will be holiday on 18th, 19th and 20th September in different cities on the occasion of Ganesh Chaturthi. According to the holiday list of Reserve Bank of India, banks will remain closed in Bengaluru, Chennai, Hyderabad – Telangana on September 18 on the occasion of Varasidhi Vinayak Vrat / Vinayak Chaturthi. There will be a bank holiday on September 19 due to Ganesh Chaturthi in Ahmedabad, Belapur, Bhubaneswar, Mumbai, Nagpur, Panaji. Banks will remain closed in Bhubaneswar and Panaji on 20th September i.e. the second day of Ganesh Chaturthi due to Nuakhai. In this way, banks will remain closed in Bhubaneswar and Panaji on 19th and 20th September.

After this, when will there be bank holidays in September?

  • September 22, 2023- There will be a holiday in banks in Kochi and Thiruvananthapuram on Sree Narayana Guru Samadhi Day.
  • September 23, 2023- Banks will remain closed across the country due to the fourth Saturday.
  • September 24, 2023- Due to it being Sunday, banks will remain closed across the country.
  • September 25, 2023- There will be a holiday in banks in Guwahati and Ranchi on the birth anniversary of Srimanta Sankardev.
  • September 27, 2023- Bank holiday in Jammu, Kochi, Srinagar and Thiruvananthapuram on Milad-e-Sherif.
  • September 28, 2023- On the occasion of Eid-e-Milad, there will be a holiday in banks in Ahmedabad, Aizawl, Belapur, Bengaluru, Chandigarh, Chennai, Hyderabad, Kanpur, Lucknow, Mumbai, Nagpur, New Delhi, Raipur and Ranchi.
  • September 29, 2023- Banks will remain closed in Gangtok, Jammu and Srinagar on the occasion of Eid-e-Milad-ul-Nabi.

Lord Ganesha is known by names like Dukhharta, Auspicious and Vighnaharta. It is believed that during Ganesh Chaturthi, in the house where Ganapati is established and worship is done as per the rituals, Ganapati takes with him all the troubles, problems and obstacles of that house.
