Rajya Sabha MP and senior advocate Mahesh Jethmalani tweeted, ‘PM Modi’s cabinet has taken a big step towards women empowerment by approving the Women’s Reservation Bill. This bill will give one-third representation to women in Parliament and state assemblies. The bill was first introduced in 1996. Since then it has been gathering dust. Since 1996, all governments have failed to legalize this bill. This bill was being discussed since PM Modi had talked about women empowerment from the ramparts of the Red Fort in the year 2022. After this, PM Modi has talked about women power on many occasions. The most recent example is found in PM Modi’s address after the successful launch of Chandrayaan 3 in Bengaluru, where he said that ‘Women power is the pinnacle of life and the catalyst of change.’ All parties have made a show of gender justice but in reality ‘Modi hai to mumkin hai’.
