Flight to Kullu, Shimla: Two new air routes from Amritsar to Kullu and Shimla are going to be started very soon. Flights for Kullu are starting from 1st October and for Shimla from 1st November.
Flight to Kullu, Shimla: Two new air routes from Amritsar to Kullu and Shimla are going to start very soon. An official statement on Wednesday said that flights from Kullu to Amritsar will start from October 1, while flights from Shimla to Amritsar are scheduled to start from November 1. Alliance Air has already started booking tickets for Kullu Amritsar route. These flights will be operated three times a week (Monday, Wednesday and Friday).
Flight will be available only for Rs 2,637
Let us tell you that about 50 percent seats on this route will be subsidized, due to which the price of flights on Kullu to Amritsar route will be Rs 2,637 and the fare from Amritsar to Kullu will be Rs 3,284.
Direct flights will also be operated from Shimla to Amritsar three days a week. However, the schedule and airfare for this route have not been decided yet.

The target is to increase tourism
Chief Minister Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu said that tourism creates many employment opportunities for the youth of Himachal Pradesh and contributes significantly to the revenue of the state. Therefore, the state government is working on increasing flight connectivity and building heliports to encourage tourism and economic development. He said that the state government is committed to promoting tourism and civil aviation, emphasis is being laid on expanding air connectivity to major tourist destinations.
Work going on at heliport
Sukhu said that in addition to the already existing three airports at Jubbarhatti (Shimla), Bhuntar (Kullu) and Gaggal (Kangra), Kangra airport will be expanded to further enhance the air connectivity of the state and ease the landing of large aircraft. Efforts are underway to do so. Additionally, the state has developed new heliports at Shimla, Baddi, Rampur and Kangnidhar (Mandi), with another heliport planned at Manali to further facilitate travel in and within Himachal, he said.
The Chief Minister also highlighted the importance of Amritsar international airport, which serves as a major hub connecting various domestic and international destinations. He said that domestic and international tourists are expected to benefit from the start of these new flights.
