TDR File: Now you will get full refund on filing TDR like this, know when and how to file TDR

Indian Railways takes care of every convenience of the passengers. Its objective is to strengthen the confidence of passengers in the train and provide them a good travel experience. One such option is Ticket Deposit Receipt (TDR) which allows passengers to easily get the entire ticket amount back. Let us know how you can take advantage of it.

New Delhi: Indian Railways takes care of every possible facility of its passengers. This is so that the passengers have confidence in the Railways and they can have a good travel experience. However, if you face some problems during the journey, then Railways has given a solution to this also to the passengers.

A similar facility is also available through Ticket Deposit Receipt (TDR) where passengers can easily get full refund of their ticket amount. Today we are going to tell you under what circumstances you can file TDR and how you can claim your refund.

In which situations TDR can be filed?

  • When the train is late by more than 3 hours and the passenger has not travelled.
  • When your seat is in a coach and that coach is not fitted in the train and you have to travel in a lower class.
  • When train AC does not work.
  • When TTE charges you more fare.
  • When you have traveled partially.
  • When the route of the train has been changed and the passenger does not travel.
  • When the train has been diverted and the train does not arrive at the boarding station.
  • When the train’s route has been changed and the train does not reach the destination station.
  • When the train ends before the destination.

How to file TDR?

  • First of all, log in to your IRCTC account.
  • After this click on your ticket history.
  • Then you go to the list of tickets where the date of journey has passed.
  • Then select the PNR for which TDR is to be filed and click on “File TDR” button.
  • Select the name of the passenger from the ticket details to claim TDR refund.
  • Select the Reason form list box or type the reason if you selected Other.
  • Then click on submit button.
  • If “Other” option is selected a new text box will open.
    You can fill the reason details and then click on submit button.
  • Confirmation will be shown to complete the TDR filing.
  • Click “OK” in the alert window if the details are confirmed.
  • After this your TDR has been filed successfully.
  • Finally you will be shown PNR Number, Transaction ID, Reference Number, TDR Status, Reason on TDR Entry Confirmation Page.
