DA Hike: Crores of rupees are waiting for the Central Government to announce the increase in Dearness Allowance (DA) during the festive season. Earlier, Telangana government has announced DA increase for road transport employees. Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TSRTC) Managing Director VC Sajjanar said that the corporation has decided to give 4.8 percent dearness allowance (DA) to the employees. This DA will be paid from the month of July. According to VC Sajjanar, DA will be paid to the road transport employees along with the salary for the month of October. There will also be arrears in this salary for July, August and September.
TSRTC official VC Sajjanar said that the corporation employees are working hard. They provide better and quality services to the passengers. The welfare of our employees is our priority. We have sanctioned 9 DAs in installments since 2019. With this latest decision, all DA has been paid to the employees. However, Road Transport Corporation union leaders claim that a total of 173 months of DA is outstanding, which should be paid.
When will central employees get DA?
The DA hike for central government employees is expected to be announced by Dussehra. It is believed that the government will increase DA by 3 percent. If there is an increase of 3 percent then the DA of central employees will increase to 45 percent. Let us tell you that based on the recommendations of the Seventh Pay Commission, the government announces DA increase twice a year on half yearly basis. Usually, DA increase for the first half is announced in the month of March. At the same time, the announcement for the second half is made by October.
