Payment of pending arrears
By December, other government aided colleges of Chandigarh will also pay the amount of pending arrears to their employees. Chandigarh Aided College Teachers Association is demanding implementation of revised pay scale for unaided teachers and giving benefits to teachers and staff on salary and retirement.

Earlier in the month of September, 600 teachers serving in 14 government and private recognized colleges of Chandigarh were cleared of arrears pending since 2016. The amount is to be sent to their account by linking it with the October salary. The amount of arrears can range from Rs 9 lakh to Rs 25 lakh.
Its notification was also issued by Education Secretary Purva Garg. A copy of the instructions has also been sent to the college. It has been said by the Education Department that the amount of arrears will be paid to all the Assistant and Associate Professors. In such a situation, the area amount has been paid to the employees by SD College. Earlier, commission had been implemented to college teachers as per the instructions of UGC but their arrears were pending. Now after the notification of the Education Department is issued, the amount of arrears will be paid to the college employees by November. Meanwhile, teachers of DAV, MCM DAV College are also planning to protest on 25th October.
