Airport New service: Many new services have been implemented at Sharjah International Airport which are making the journey easier for passengers. From check-in to baggage drop, passport control and boarding, passengers can do it all themselves with airport self-services.
An airport spokesperson explained that self-services are available to all Air Arabia passengers “regardless of whether they are residents or tourists”.
How does this work
Check in like this
- Self-check-in kiosks are available at the airport. Passengers can visit the kiosk and either scan their passport or enter their Passenger Name Record (PNR).
- Once their details are approved the boarding pass and bag tag will be printed.
Drop your luggage like this
- Passengers can print their bag tag using the self-check-in kiosk. If they have checked-in online, they can go to the ‘Tag and Fly’ kiosk to print their tag and then proceed to the self-baggage drop counter.
Passport control procedure
This is done with smart gates.
- Passengers should place their passport photo page on the e-reader.
- Then they scan the barcode with an e-reader.
- They enter the smart gate, stand at the designated area and look into the camera.
- After all the processes are completed, the smart gate will open automatically, allowing passengers to proceed with their journey.
