Banke Bihari Temple: Before going to Banke Bihari Temple, note the new time for darshan, winter service has started.

Because winter service has started in Banke Bihari Temple and the timing of darshan of the temple has also changed. Winters start falling in Vrajdham from November itself, hence winter service has been started in Banke Bihari Temple.

The timing of darshan in the temple has changed in winter

According to information received from media reports, winter service of Thakur ji has started in Banke Bihari temple. Due to this, the time of opening and closing of the temple, time of Shayan Aarti, daily puja service etc. has changed. It is said that during winter the temple will open at 8.45 am and the morning Shringaar Aarti will start at 9 am. Rajbhog service will start at 9.05. Rajbhoj will be served to Thakur ji after curtain at 12 noon, at which time devotees will not be able to get darshan of Banke Bihari.

After this, the temple will be opened again for common devotees at 12.30 pm. After this, there will be aarti of Banke Bihari in the temple and after the aarti the door will be closed. The temple will open again at 4.30 in the evening and devotees will be able to have darshan of Banke Bihari till 8 in the night. At 8.30 in the night, after drawing the curtain, the Lord will be offered ‘Shayan Bhog’ and his ‘Shayan Aarti’ will start.

The quantity of saffron will increase in the offering.

In winter, the attire of Banke Bihari will also change and he will now be dressed in light and warm clothes. In winter, to protect Thakurji from cold, the bed will be covered with a pashmina sheet and a shamal cotton quilt. The sanctum sanctorum will be kept warm by lighting a fire in a silver sigri. Dry fruits will be given as bhog to Thakur ji. At the same time, the quantity of Banke Bihari’s favorite curd and items made from curd will be reduced in winter. To ensure that Thakurji does not catch cold during the cold season, the amount of saffron in milk and kheer will be increased.

Saffron is specially procured from Kashmir for Thakurji. In the winter service, hot curry, juicy and dry dal, wet and dry vegetables, sweet raita, plain rice, saffron milk with Panchmeva, missi, pickle, papad, chutney and murabba are offered to Banke Bihari in the afternoon Rajbhog. During winter days, Thakurji is massaged with perfume 4 times a day in Banke Bihari temple.

How to reach Banke Bihari Temple

You can reach quickly from Delhi-NCR via Agra Expressway. Mathura-Vrindavan is very well connected by road to Delhi-NCR. If you want to go to Mathura-Vrindavan by rail, the nearest railway station is Mathura. Vrindavan is 14 km away from Mathura. You will get a taxi on hire from Mathura Railway Station which will take you directly to Vrindavan Banke Bihari Temple.

If you want, you can also go to Vrindavan from Mathura by bus. You can hire an e-rickshaw from Vrindavan Bus Stand to Banke Bihari Temple. The nearest airport to Banke Bihari Temple is Agra, which is about 67 km from here.
