Flights Canceled: Big News! All flights at this airport were canceled till 11 pm, discount given on flights cancellation fees

Chennai Airport Operation Closed: Due to the impact of cyclonic storm ‘Migzom’, heavy rains are occurring in Chennai and its surrounding districts on Monday. Due to heavy rain and waterlogging, all operations from Chennai Airport will remain canceled till 11 pm. Apart from air services, rail services have been canceled or delayed due to the cyclone. Due to the impact of cyclonic storm ‘Migzom’, heavy rains are continuing in Chennai and surrounding Chengalpet, Kanchipuram and Tiruvallur districts since late Sunday night.

Air India will give lump sum discount on ticket cancellation

Due to bad weather at Chennai Airport, flight timings will remain suspended till 11 pm on December 4, 2023. In such a situation, Air India will give a one-time waiver of rescheduling/cancellation fees on booking to its guests holding confirmed tickets on any flight from/to Chennai on December 4, 2023. Apart from this, Indigo has also given discount on cancellation and rescheduling fees of flights.

Power cut in Chennai, internet service disrupted

Earlier, due to rain, Chennai airport operations were suspended from 9.40 am to 11.40 am. About 70 flights arriving and departing from the airport were cancelled. Runway and tarmac are also closed. Due to torrential rains along with strong winds, electricity was lost in many areas of the city and internet service was disrupted. Due to continuous heavy rains, low lying and residential areas of the city were flooded. Municipal Corporation employees are busy trying to drain the water.

Storm will reach Andhra Pradesh coast on December 5

According to IMD, the cyclonic storm is centered in the south-west of the Bay of Bengal at 11.30 pm on December 3, about 210 km east-northeast of Puducherry, 150 km east-southeast of Chennai. It is likely to strengthen towards north-northwest and hit the coast of Nellore and Machilipatnam in Andhra Pradesh on December 5 in the morning. This storm is likely to reach the coast of Andhra Pradesh on December 5.
