Even in Delhi, preparations for the New Year are visible everywhere. Along with this, security arrangements are being tightened and the administration is on alert. Keeping this in view, Metro has issued some advisories for the new year.

Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) in its advisory said that to reduce congestion on New Year’s Eve (31 December 2023), exit from Rajiv Chowk metro station will not be allowed from 9:00 pm onwards. However, passengers will be allowed to enter till the departure of the last train from Rajiv Chowk metro station on December 31. Passengers are requested to plan their journey accordingly. Metro services on the remaining metro network will be available as per regular timetable. Passengers are requested to plan their journey accordingly. As advised by the police authorities, to ease overcrowding on New Year’s Eve (31st December 2023), EXIT from Rajiv Chowk Metro station will NOT be allowed from 9PM onwards. It is not good for those who drink and drive.
Delhi Traffic Police will deploy 2,500 police personnel to ensure smooth movement of vehicles on New Year’s Eve and 250 teams to curb drunken driving. According to the traffic advisory of Delhi Police, vehicles will be allowed to move at these places. According to Delhi Traffic Police, no vehicle will be allowed near Gol Chakkar Mandi House, Gol Chakkar Bengali Market, Northern Floor of Ranjit Singh Flyover, Minto Road – Deen Dayal Upadhyay Marg crossing, Chelmsford Road near Munje Chowk (New Delhi Railway Station ), R.K.Ashram Marg-Chitragupt Marg Crossing, Gol Chakkar Gol Market, Gol Chakkar G.P.O, New Delhi, Patel Chowk, Kasturba Gandhi Road-Ferozeshah Road Crossing, Jai Singh Road-Bangla Sahib Lane, Gol Chakkar No permission will be given to go beyond Windsor Place towards Connaught Place.
Parking arrangements will be like this at Connaught Place
No vehicles, except those holding valid passes, will be allowed inside Connaught Place, in the middle or outer circle. Limited parking space will be available near Connaught Place on a first come first serve basis. Wrongly parked vehicles will be removed and appropriate action will be taken. Motorists can park their vehicles at these locations around Connaught Place.
Use these routes to go to New Delhi station
Old Delhi Railway Station is not affected. Use these routes to go from South Delhi to New Delhi Railway Station.
• Ram Manohar Lohia- Park Street-Mandir Marg-Rani Jhansi Road- Gol Chakkar Jhandewalan- Deshbandhu Gupta Road.
• Gol Chakkar GPO – Kali Bari Marg – Mandir Marg – Rani Jhansi Road – Gol Chakkar Jhandewalan – Deshbandhu Gupta Road.
• Roundabout Windsor Place – Fitojshah Tod – Mandi House – ‘W Point’ – ‘A’ Point – DDU Marg – Bhavabhuti Marg.
• Entry from Connaught Place-Chelmsford Road will be prohibited.
• Motorists can take the second entry from Ajmeri Gate. They are Pahar Ganj – Sheela Cinema or Ajmeti Gate – J.L.N. From the route B.S.Z. Route- You can reach the station through Delhi Gate.
Suggested routes for movement from North Delhi to South Delhi
As per Delhi Traffic Police advisory, motorists are advised to use the available alternative routes for movement from North Delhi to South Delhi:
• Ring Road from ISBT to Ashram or
• To reach the Ashram go through Delhi Gate, Bahadur Shah Zafar Marg, Mathura Road and vice versa or
• Via ISBT, Rani Jhansi Marg, Panchkuian Road, Mandir Marg, Park Street, Mother Teresa Crescent Road and beyond.

• Via Rani Jhansi Marg, Panchkuian Road, Hanuman Murti, Ring Road.
