India-Maldives: The impact of the objectionable remarks made by the leaders of Maldives regarding India and Prime Minister Narendra Modi is beginning to be seen. Online boycott campaign against Maldives has started. Online travel company EaseMyTrip has suspended all flight bookings for Maldives. It was only after PM Modi’s visit to Lakshadweep that Maldivian leaders made poisonous statements about India.
Nishant Pitti, co-founder and chief executive officer (CEO) of Indian online travel company EaseMyTrip, announced suspension of flights booking on social media platform X in support of India. He wrote, ‘Showing solidarity with our country, EaseMyTrip has suspended all flight bookings to Maldives.’ EaseMyTrip has also started an online campaign to visit Lakshadweep.
