Weather Update, IMD Rainfall Alert: Cold is returning in most of the states of the country. The sun is shining during the day in North India, which is bringing relief to the people. However, in the meantime, due to Western Disturbance, there is going to be heavy rain in many states from today till February 5 i.e. for three days. The Meteorological Department has said that it will rain in North-West and Central India. At present, the minimum temperature is being recorded between six to 10 degrees Celsius in Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, Delhi, Uttarakhand, North Rajasthan, North Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh and sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim. Today the lowest temperature was 5.4 degrees Celsius in Karnal, Haryana.
The Meteorological Department has said that there will be light to moderate rain and snowfall in Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh, Gilgit, Baltistan, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand on February 3 and 4. There is an alert of sporadic rain on February 5 also. Apart from this, it is going to rain in Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, Delhi, Rajasthan on February 3 and 4. Apart from this, hailstorm will also fall in these states. In UP too, a warning of rain and hail has been issued on February 4 and 5. There is an alert of heavy rain and snowfall in Uttarakhand and Himachal Pradesh on February 4. Strong winds with a speed of 40 kilometers per hour are going to blow in the states of North-West India on February 3 and 4.
Talking about cold and fog, there is going to be dense to very dense fog in Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, Delhi on 5th and 6th February. There will be fog conditions in Odisha, Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura on February 4 and 5. At the same time, a cold day alert has been issued in Himachal Pradesh on February 3 and 4. The Meteorological Department has given good news regarding the cold that now it will reduce further in the coming days. The minimum temperature in North-West India is going to be two to three degrees Celsius higher in the next two days. Apart from this, no major change will be seen in the minimum temperatures in the states of Northeast India for the next two days.
