Traffic Rules in Bihar: Bihar Police has decided to send e-challan through registered post to those who violate traffic rules.
Traffic Rules in Bihar: Bihar Police has decided to send e-challan through registered post to those who violate traffic rules. A senior officer gave this information. Additional Director General (ADG) Traffic Sudhanshu Kumar said that the system of sending e-challan through registered post to those violating traffic rules has recently been started in Patna.
Challan will come by registered post
ADG Traffic said, “The system of sending e-challan through SMS to the drivers who violate traffic rules is not working properly. The main reason for this is that the violators change their mobile phone numbers again and again. The only reason is that we have decided to send e-challans through registered post to those who violate traffic rules.”
He said, “We started this system in Patna a few days ago. Now we want to implement it in all the districts. A letter in this regard has been sent to the traffic police of every district.”
Recovery of traffic challan will be easy
ADG Traffic said that the cost of sending e-challan through registered post can be recovered from those violating traffic rules. He said that at present the traffic police is bearing the cost…but we have sought permission from the competent authority to recover the cost of sending the challan through registered post from the traffic rule violators.
Average 3000 challans every day
According to statistics, on an average 3,000 e-challans/notices are issued every day for traffic rule violations in Bihar. Analysis of data shows that even half of the total e-challans issued daily in the state are not paid.
