Number of Digi Yatra users 1.45 crore
According to the news, the number of users of Digi Yatra app has exceeded 45.8 lakh. The number of passengers traveling using Digi Yatra has reached 1.45 crore. Digi Yatra will be launched at Chennai Airport by March 31, 2024, the ministry said in a release. This year this facility will be available at 25 more airports
Last December, Civil Aviation Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia had said that in the year 2024, Digi Yatra facility will be started at 25 more airports in the country. Then he asked airport operators to promote ‘Digi Yatra’. The advantage of using Digi Yatra is that you will not have to stand in long queues to enter the airport nor do you need to show ID proof to anyone.
The Digi Yatra app connects the passenger’s boarding pass with the facial recognition system (FRS). This confirms their identity. This reduces the time taken to reach the boarding gate and complete pre-security checks. After installing Digi Yatra app, the passenger has to create Digi Yatra ID. Travelers can create Digi Yatra ID with the help of information like their name, mobile number, email address and details of their identity proof.
