Sukhu government of Himachal Pradesh has made a big announcement for the girls and women of the state. All women in the age group of 18 years to 80 years will get Rs 1500 per month. Indira Gandhi Pyari Behna Sukh Samman Nidhi Yojana has been started. About 8 lakh women of the state will get the benefit of this scheme. It is noteworthy that the Karnataka government has also announced to give two thousand rupees per month to the women of the state under the Griha Lakshmi scheme.
Rs 800 crore will be spent annually, CM Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu said this
Himachal Pradesh CM Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu, while addressing the media, said that Rs 800 crore will be spent annually on this initiative – Indira Gandhi Pyari Behna Sukh Samman Nidhi Yojana. More than five lakh women will come under its purview. He said that with this, five out of 10 election promises have been fulfilled and reiterated that the old pension scheme has been restored, benefiting 1.36 lakh employees of the state.

It was one of the 10 ‘guarantees’ promised by the Congress before the Himachal Pradesh Assembly elections 2021. I am making an important announcement while paying my respects to all of you. Under Indira Gandhi Pyari Behna Sukh Samman Nidhi Yojana, all the women of the state will be given Rs 1500 per month. Our government is fully committed to your respect and your rights.
Griha Lakshmi Yojana was started by the Karnataka government in August last year. More than 1 crore women had registered for this scheme. The benefit of this scheme is not available to those women whose husband pays income tax. Apart from this, those who have ration cards will also not be eligible for this scheme.
