How to Check Name in Voter List: The dates of Lok Sabha elections have been announced. Elections will be held across the country and voters will elect their MPs with their votes. Voter ID card is necessary to cast vote in the country. Any citizen can vote only if he has a voter ID card as well as your name is in the electoral list prepared by the Election Commission of India. Therefore, get your documents correct before the voting date. For Lok Sabha Elections 2024, it is necessary to verify your voter registration status through the Voter Seva Portal.
Names get removed from the list
Merely having a voter ID card is not enough to cast vote. The voter list keeps changing from time to time. Many times it has happened that due to various reasons some names went missing or were removed from the list. Therefore, it is important to check whether your name is in the list before the elections or not. You can easily check it online. For this you will need EPIC number, name, age, date of birth, district and assembly constituency.
How to check your name in voter list
- First of all go to the Voter Service Portal.
- Visit ‘https://electoralsearch.eci.gov.in/‘ on your phone, PC or laptop using any web browser.
- Select from the available options to find your name in the voter list on the page.
- You will see three options – Search by Details, Search by EPIC and Search by Mobile.
- ‘Search by Details: Enter required details like name, surname, date of birth etc.
- Then enter the captcha and press search button.
- Search by EPIC: Select Language, EPIC Number (you will find it on Voter ID Card), State, Captcha and click on Search button.
- Search by mobile: Select state and language. Then enter the registered mobile number with Voter ID and captcha and press the search button. If your name appears in the search result, your name is in the electoral list and you can cast your vote, provided you have your voter ID card.
