Delhi Rainfall Update: There will be rain for three days in Delhi amid relief from heat; Know what the weather will be like

Delhi Rains: According to the Meteorological Department, there is a possibility of light rain in Delhi on April 13 and 14, while there will be rain in the capital on April 15 also.

Delhi Rains: There is going to be a big change in the weather of the national capital Delhi in the next two days. The Meteorological Department said on Friday that the maximum temperature in Delhi is expected to fall from the current 39 degrees Celsius to around 33 degrees Celsius in two days. This will provide relief from heat. Kuldeep Srivastava, head of the Regional Weather Forecasting Centre, told PTI, “The maximum temperature is expected to drop by four to five degrees Celsius in the coming two days as the active Western Disturbance will bring rain and cloudy skies in the capital.” According to the good news of the Meteorological Department, there is a possibility of light rain in Delhi on 13th and 14th April, while there will be rain in the capital on 15th April also.

He further said, an active Western Disturbance is expected to reach Northwest India by late night on Friday, starting from Jammu and its impact will reach Delhi late on April 13 and continue till April 14. The temperature in the capital will drop by about 33 percent, the sky will be cloudy and winds will blow at a speed of 30 to 40 km per hour. The impact of the western disturbance of April will be felt till April 18 and 19, so the temperature will not reach 40 degrees Celsius by then.”

He further said that heat wave conditions have not been predicted in the national capital in April. According to IMD data, the maximum temperature in Delhi has remained around 40 degrees Celsius for the last three days, with the minimum temperature recorded at 21.7 degrees Celsius on Friday. According to the IMD FAQ on heatwave, “A heatwave occurs when the maximum temperature reaches above 40 degrees Celsius and falls by more than 4.5 degrees Celsius above normal.”

The official further said that the days are hot but due to cloudy sky the nights are relatively cool at the moment. He said, mid-May and June see extremely hot days when the temperature exceeds 40 degrees Celsius and can even reach 45 degrees Celsius. Srivastava said that last year the summers in Delhi were mild. “As per our observations, temperatures this summer will be three to four degrees Celsius above normal, with temperatures expected to reach 45 degrees Celsius by the end of May,” he said.
