IMD Rainfall Alert: Heat wave continues to wreak havoc in many states of North India. In many areas including eastern Uttar Pradesh, the maximum temperature has crossed 42 degrees Celsius. It is becoming difficult to even go out during the day. In such a situation, people are waiting for the temperature to drop, but there does not seem to be any relief from it soon. However, even amidst the scorching heat, there is a possibility of rain and thunderstorm in many states. It is going to rain in the north-western states for the next four days.
According to the Meteorological Department, heatwave is going to continue in Eastern and South India for the next five days. The western Himalayan region and plains of northwest India will receive rain between April 26-29. At the same time, an alert of rain and storm has been issued in some states of North-East India between 26-28 April and in Central India between 26 and 27 April.
In the last 24 hours, heat wave havoc was seen in states like Gangetic West Bengal, Sub Himalayan West Bengal, Bihar, Jharkhand, Odisha, Interior Karnataka, Coastal Andhra Pradesh. At the same time, light to moderate rain occurred in Arunachal Pradesh, East Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha, Chhattisgarh, Central Maharashtra, Marathwada, Gujarat, Sub Himalayan West Bengal, Sikkim, Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Assam, Tripura. At the same time, hailstorm occurred in areas of East Madhya Pradesh and Central Maharashtra.
