Apart from this, rain and snowfall will continue in the western Himalayan regions also. Light rain is also expected in Northeast India. At the same time, the effect of heat wave will remain in some parts of Jharkhand, Telangana and Kerala. Heatwave will continue in West Bengal, Bihar and Kutch also.
The Meteorological Department says that between May 4 and 6, there may be thundershowers in Haryana, Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Punjab and Rajasthan. However, there is no possibility of much rain. Strong winds will continue to blow in Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Punjab and Haryana till May 4. Talking about the capital Delhi, there may be a dust storm here on the evening of May 4. Light drizzle can also bring down the temperature.
Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan held a meeting on Thursday to review the possibility of extreme heat in the state and issued several instructions, including keeping educational institutions closed till May 6. According to an official statement, the Chief Minister also issued instructions regarding monsoon in the online meeting of the State Disaster Management Authority. District Magistrates participated in the meeting.
The India Meteorological Department has issued a ‘yellow alert’ for Alappuzha, Palakkad, Thrissur and Kozhikode districts of the state due to the possibility of severe heat. After which Vijayan urged people to avoid prolonged exposure to sunlight between 11 am and 3 pm on Thursday and Friday.
