New Vande Bharat trains will be run from Muzaffarpur, Patna, Jaynagar to Delhi, in which there will also be a sleeper version on one route. New Amrit Bharat will also run from Raxaul to Delhi and Vande Bharat will run from Saharsa to Howrah route.
New Vande Bharat: Bihar is soon going to get Vande Bharat Express, Vande Bharat Sleeper and Amrit Bharat trains on different routes. This will provide convenience to people traveling on routes like Delhi, Howrah from different cities of the state. Railway Board can start operating Vande Bharat train from Muzaffarpur and Jaynagar stations anytime after June 15, 2024. An official notification regarding this can be issued soon.
At present, efforts are underway to increase the track speed on this route to 130 kilometers per hour. It is expected to be completed by the end of May. The ongoing track repair work to increase the speed is also about to be completed. Apart from Vande Bharat, Amrit Bharat Express and Vande Bharat (sleeper version) will also operate from East Central Railway jurisdiction.
A senior railway official said that there are preparations to operate Vande Bharat Express train from Muzaffarpur to Delhi, Jaynagar to Delhi via Muzaffarpur. Apart from this, new Vande Bharat train will also be run on Saharsa-Howrah route. At the same time, there is a plan to run sleeper version Vande Bharat between Patna and New Delhi. One Amrit Bharat train each from Darmbhga to Delhi and from Raxaul to Delhi will also operate. At present, Amrit Bharat is operating from Delhi via Darbhanga via Sitamarhi. However, it is weekly.
There will be savings of more than five hours:
Railway officials say that after the running of Vande Bharat train, there will be a saving of five to six hours in traveling from Muzaffarpur to Delhi. At present, the superfast train takes about 18 hours. It will take only 12 to 13 hours from Vande Bharat. However, there will be a difference of more than one and a half times in fare.
Demand has arisen for Vande Bharat:
The demand for running Vande Bharat train from Muzaffarpur has been raised several times before the Railways. From public representatives to business organizations, letters have been sent to the Railway Board and the Railway Minister for this. It is said that on the demand of the people of Muzaffarpur, Railways is going to immediately give final approval to the operation of one Vande Bharat Express each from Muzaffarpur and Jaynagar and one Amrit Bharat Express from Muzaffarpur to Howrah.
