Office Timings Change: Government has set a new time for those who come to office late, action will be taken if they make a mistake

After coming to power in 2014, the Modi government had sought to implement fixed office timings. Employees had opposed it. Some had argued that they travel long distances.

Office Timings Change: Worrying news is coming out for those who reach office late. The central government has clearly said that those who come to office more than 15 minutes late will not be forgiven. They should be ready to face action. Employees across the country have been instructed to be present in the office by 9.15 am and register their attendance. Apart from this, all employees including senior officers have also been asked to use the biometric system. Let us tell you that its use was stopped after the corona infection.

The Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) of the Central Government has decided to waive the delay of a maximum of 15 minutes. Employees have been warned that if they do not come to the office by 9.15 am, half a day of their casual leave will be deducted.

The order issued for government employees states, “If for any reason the employees are unable to attend the office on a particular day, they will have to inform about it. Casual leave has to be applied for.”

Central government offices are open from 9 am to 5.30 pm, but it is normal for junior level employees to come late and leave early. Senior officials say that there is no fixed office time. We also take work home. They usually leave after 7 pm. Apart from this, they argue that after Kovid, people often work from home on holidays or weekends on electronic files.

After coming to power in 2014, the Modi government had demanded the implementation of office timings. Employees had opposed this. Some had argued that they travel long distances. Aadhaar based biometric system was installed to ensure that officers and employees come to office on time. Many senior officers had installed biometric devices on their desks to avoid standing in queues to mark their attendance.

Now the government is seen in action again. Orders have been issued to reinstate the biometric system.
