Rules for traveling without ticket
According to the rules of the Railways, if a person travels without a ticket, he can be fined a maximum of Rs 1000 or jailed for six months. The penalty can be a minimum of Rs 250.
Traveling in another coach with a ticket of another coach
If a passenger travels in another coach by taking a ticket of another coach. Then the difference between the tickets is charged. In this also additional charges can be levied by the TTE. Suppose a passenger has taken a ticket of sleeper coach and is traveling in AC coach. So the difference between the two tickets will have to be paid.
Travelling after consuming alcohol
If a person travels in a train after consuming alcohol, a fine of Rs 500 will be imposed on him. He will also be deboarded from the train. A person travelling after consuming alcohol can also be jailed for six months.
Traveling without identity card
If a person has booked a ticket online and does not carry the identity card during the journey, the TTE can consider the passenger as travelling without a ticket and can impose a fine on him.
Pulling the chain without reason
If someone pulls the chain of the train without any emergency or without any valid reason, then such a person will be considered guilty. He can be imprisoned for up to one year or fined Rs 1,000 or both.
Penalty for smoking
Smoking is banned in trains. In such a situation, if someone is caught smoking, he will have to pay a penalty of Rs 200.
