Toll Plazas New System: Nitin Gadkari is preparing to implement a new system for toll plazas, drivers’ problems will be resolved

GNSS on Highway: Union Minister Gadkari said that the officials of the agencies related to tolling on the highway should think about the problems of the people waiting for a long time at the toll plaza. Complaints should be lodged on such problems and they should be resolved immediately.

Highway Toll Plaza: If you often travel by your car on the highway, then this news is for you. Understanding the problems faced by car drivers, Union Road Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari said that if the roads are bad and people are facing problems, then it is not right for highway agencies to take toll. He said this in a global workshop organized on satellite based tolling system. This year the government is preparing to implement a new tolling system on 5,000 km of road.

Social media is also full of complaints

Gadkari clearly said in the workshop that if you cannot provide good service, then you should not take toll. When the condition of a road is not good, I get many complaints. Social media is also full of posts related to this … If you take toll on potholes and muddy roads, then people will get angry. The Union Minister also said that the officials of the agencies related to tolling on the highway should also think about the problems of the people waiting for a long time at the toll plaza. There should be a system to register complaints on such problems and solve them immediately.

Fastag was made mandatory at toll plazas in 2021

The government made Fastag mandatory in the year 2021 to avoid any kind of hassle at toll plazas. Now when 95 percent of vehicles have FASTag, there are still long queues at toll plazas. To eliminate these lines, NHAI is working on Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS). This year, a target has been set to start the GNSS system on 5000 km of highways across the country. This system will be started on some highways from July 1.

Toll plazas will disappear from the highway!

After the implementation of GNSS, the day is not far when you will not find toll plazas on the highway. The Highway Authority has proposed to start it in a systematic manner. It will first be started with commercial vehicles. One lane of the toll plaza will be completely for GNSS. After its launch, vehicles will be able to pass without stopping. The government plans to implement GNSS in private vehicles in the next phase.

Gadkari said that GNSS based toll collection will increase the government’s toll revenue by Rs 10,000 crore. He said, ‘We need to establish a leak proof GNSS based toll collection system in the country so that toll users do not face any kind of problem.
