Indian Railways may tighten the rules for passengers traveling with waiting tickets. Due to which lakhs of passengers traveling by railways may be affected.
Regarding this decision of the Railways, it is being said that after July 1, the passengers traveling on waiting tickets can be removed from the train by the TTE by taking action.
Railways has now made the rules for waiting tickets more strict. Traveling on waiting tickets has been completely banned.
Let us tell you that according to the rules of the railways, if someone has bought an AC ticket from the counter and is in waiting list, then he can travel in AC coach. Similarly, if a waiting ticket for sleeper coach is bought from the counter, then he can travel in sleeper.
But if someone has booked a ticket online and it is in waiting list then one cannot travel on the online ticket because if it is not confirmed then it gets cancelled.
Regarding this rule, the railway says that no passenger can travel on a waiting ticket and this rule is not new but from the British era. But it is not being followed.
Now there are reports that the railways can strictly enforce the rule. If someone is found travelling in the train with a waiting ticket, then he will be fined Rs 440. Along with this, the TTE can also deboard him from the train. The TTE will also have the right to send such passengers to the general compartment.
