New Expressway: Now 11 hour journey will be completed in 7 hours with the new expressway, it will open on this date

Ganga Expressway Opening Date: The Ganga Expressway being built between Delhi and Prayagraj is planned to be opened to the public by December 31. On the launch of this ambitious project of the UP government, people will be able to travel to Prayagraj via the expressway during the Maha Kumbh.

Delhi to Prayagraj Distance: In the last few years, the government has rapidly expanded the network of roads and highways. Work is going on rapidly on the ambitious project of the UP government, Ganga Expressway. Work is going on even in the rainy season. The government aims to open the 594 km long Ganga Expressway to the public by December 31. This expressway will connect Bijauli village of Meerut to Judapur Dandu village of Prayagraj. Apart from this, after connecting to the Delhi-Meerut Expressway, the journey from Delhi to Prayagraj will be completed in about 7 hours.

There will be a total of 32 flyovers on the way

The companies working on behalf of the state government have been asked to build two big bridges as soon as possible. The first of these is a 960 meter long bridge over the river Ganga between Meerut and Badaun. The second bridge is 720 meters long over the Ramganga river between Badaun and Hardoi. The entire route of the six-lane road will include 14 major bridges, 7 bridges over railway lines, 32 flyovers and a 3.5 km long airstrip for emergency landing of fighter jets in Jalalabad area of ​​Shahjahanpur.

There will be vehicle movement before Maha Kumbh

The expressway construction organization UPEIDA has given instructions to the officers. UPIDA has said that all the necessary structures and high-speed roads should be ready before the deadline of 31 December. So that during the Maha Kumbh to be held in January next year, the movement of vehicles to Prayagraj becomes easy through the Ganga Expressway. The Ganga Expressway, to be built with a budget of Rs 36,230 crore, will connect 12 districts and improve traffic.

Expressway being built on 7453 hectares of land

For this entire project, 7453 hectares of land has been taken from 518 villages. This expressway will be 120 meters wide and will have 6 lanes initially. In the coming time, 2 more lanes can be added as per the need. The speed limit of vehicles has not been decided yet. But the companies working on it have been asked to make it in such a way that the vehicles can run at a speed of 120 km per hour.

The expressway has been divided into four parts

The entire expressway has been divided into four parts. The first part is 129.70 km long from Meerut to Badaun and is being built by IRB Infrastructure Developer Limited. The remaining three parts are being built by Adani Infrastructure. The second part is 151.70 km long from Badaun to Hardoi. The third is from Hardoi to Unnao, which is 155.70 km long. The fourth and last part is from Unnao to Prayagraj, which is 156.85 km long.

82% earthwork on the main road is complete

Giving more information, an official associated with this entire project said that 82% earthwork on the main road has been completed. Similarly, the work of the lower layer has been completed on 58% of the road, while more than 50% of the paved road has been built on the 596 km long stretch. Out of a total of 1481 structures, the construction agencies have completed the work of 1215 structures.

Two big toll plazas will be built on the main road between Meerut and Prayagraj. 15 more small toll plazas will be built on the entry and exit points. 9 facility centers have been built for the passengers on the way. After the opening of this expressway, the travel time between western and eastern Uttar Pradesh will be reduced considerably.
