People want Vande Bharat to pass through their city so that they can also experience the service of this semi high speed train. There is a demand to run Vande Bharat train on many routes. Ernakulam-Bengaluru route is also included in these routes. People are angry with the delay in the start of the third Vande Bharat Express in Kerala. However, now it seems that Vande Bharat will be operated on this route soon.
Work will start soon
According to The Hindu report, Thrissur Railway Passengers Association (TRPA) general secretary P. Krishnakumar hoped that the railways would start service on the Ernakulam-Bengaluru route as soon as possible. He said that in view of the ever-increasing demand in the region, the railways should also start the conventional Vande Bharat along with the introduction of the sleeper version.
Railway sources cited the lack of platforms at railway stations in Bengaluru by the South Western Railway, among other reasons for the delay in starting the service on the Ernakulam-Bengaluru route. There is also a fear that a new Vande Bharat daily train on the route may cause short-distance trains to be stopped. It is worth noting that the railways had promised as early as April 2023 that it would run the Vande Bharat Express on the Ernakulam-Bengaluru route by the end of 2023 or early 2024, as there is a huge demand in the corridor from IT professionals and other Keralites working in Bengaluru.
Passengers dependent on buses are demanding Vande Bharat
According to a report in The Hindu, due to the lack of sufficient trains in this corridor, passengers are relying on inter-state luxury buses, which is increasing traffic jams and accidents on the highway. People want Vande Bharat to be started in the Ernakulam-Bengaluru corridor as soon as possible so that people can get rid of the hassle of expensive flights and buses. According to railway sources, the Railway Board has not yet confirmed when the Vande Bharat Express will be run on the Ernakulam-Bengaluru route. But it is hoped that the railway will soon listen to the huge demand of the people.
