Aadhaar cards: Now those who make fake Aadhaar cards are in trouble! Now the government will take strict action

A campaign will be launched against those making fake Aadhaar cards. This decision has been taken by the Bhajanlal government of Rajasthan. Giving information, Minister Jogaram Patel said that strict action will be taken against those doing this.

The Rajasthan government said on Saturday that a statewide campaign will be launched to take action against e-mitra and aadhaar centres that make fake aadhaar cards in the state. Parliamentary Affairs Minister Jogaram Patel made this announcement in the Assembly on Saturday. On Saturday, he assured the House that by running an intensive campaign, strict action will be taken against aadhaar centres and e-mitra operators who make fake aadhaar cards.

Giving information about this, Minister Jogaram said that for this, all the e-mitras and Aadhaar centres of the state will be inspected and the annual report of the Aadhaar machines will be called and they will also be inspected. He said that it will be made mandatory for the e-mitra operators to write the information about the amount of free services and paid services outside the centre, so that excessive charges cannot be levied on the general public for the services.

Jogaram Patel was responding to the matter raised by Raniwada MLA Ratan Dewasi through an attention motion in this regard. He said that making fakeAadhaar cardsby authorized Aadhaar centers operating in the border districts of Pakistan is a very serious matter related to national security. The state government is continuously taking effective action to curb such cases. He informed that on June 21, 2024, when the news of making fake Aadhaar cards using fake documents and biometrics was published, the Department of Information Technology and Communication took immediate action and got an investigation done regarding Aadhaar card from the Unique Identification Authority of India, New Delhi.

Patel said that in Sanchore district, two cases were registered against e-mitra operators who made fake Aadhaar cards, out of which during investigation in one case, the Aadhaar card enrollment was found to be done from the ID of Kanhaiyalal, an operator working under the Registrar, Information Technology and Communication Department. Legal action was taken by registering an FIR in Sarwana police station on 21 June 2024 against the e-mitra and Aadhaar operators involved in this case.

According to the official statement, Patel said that the notification and necessary information for transferring the investigation of this case to the CBI have been sent to the Central Government along with the request letter. He said that the accused named in this case Togaram, Ganpat Singh and Kanhaiya Lal are absconding.

The minister said that efforts are on to trace the accused and arrest them. In the second case of Sanchore district, a case was registered at Chitalwana police station and accused Manohar Lal was arrested on 21 June 2024 after the crime was proved. The arrest of other accused Vikas, Ramesh and Sunil is pending and the investigation of the case is going on. He informed that effective monitoring is being done on e-mitra operators and Aadhaar centres in Sanchore district so that such illegal activities can be curbed in future. He assured the House that if any e-mitra or Aadhaar centre operator is found involved in making fake Aadhaar cards, legal action will be taken as per rules.

Giving information, Jogaram Patel said that after a technical investigation by the New Delhi-based Unique Identification Authority of India, show cause notices have been issued to 14 Aadhaar operators. The Aadhaar machines of these operators have been de-registered and closed by the Registrar of the Department of Information Technology and Communication and necessary action is under process as per the provisions of the Authority.
