IMD Rainfall Alert: There will be heavy rain in 12 states for 5 days, know the weather condition in your state

IMD Update: There is a possibility of rain for 5 days in many states including Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Central Maharashtra, Kerala, Mahe, Karnataka, Telangana, Coastal Andhra Pradesh.

Weather Update: Monsoon havoc continues in Maharashtra. Many areas including Mumbai, Pune are facing heavy rains. On Friday, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has informed that there is no hope of relief for Central Maharashtra at the moment. There are chances of very heavy rains here. Also, heavy rains are forecast in many states including Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh.

Where will it rain today

According to the Meteorological Department, there is a possibility of rain in Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh, Gilgit, Baltistan, Muzaffarabad, Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Madhya Maharashtra, Kerala, Mahe, Karnataka, Lakshadweep, Telangana, Coastal Andhra Pradesh, Yanam, Rayalaseema, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, Karaikal and almost all the states of the Northeast during the next 5 days.

These states will face heavy rains

IMD has said that heavy rains may occur in Madhya Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Vidarbha, Saurashtra, Kutch, Gujarat, Konkan, Goa, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, East Rajasthan, West Uttar Pradesh till July 29, East Uttar Pradesh on July 26, Haryana, Chandigarh on July 26 and 27, Punjab on July 27, West Rajasthan till July 29, Tamil Nadu on July 26, Coastal and South Interior Karnataka on July 28 and 29. Also, there is a possibility of heavy rain in Gangetic West Bengal, Jharkhand on July 26 and in Odisha from July 27 to 29.

In the northeastern states, Assam, Meghalaya are likely to receive heavy rains till July 27, Arunachal Pradesh, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura on July 28 and 29.

15 people died in Maharashtra

At least 15 people lost their lives in rain-related incidents in Maharashtra as heavy rains lashed several parts of the state, including Pune, Mumbai, Thane, Raigad and adjoining areas. The Army is helping the civil agencies in the rescue operation, officials said here on Thursday. The rest of Pune city and the district are submerged in floodwaters.

Boats have been deployed to help the stranded people and schools have been closed. The city’s fire brigade, police, SDRF and NDRF teams and other agencies were sent to several areas to rescue people. Rescuers used rubber boats and ropes to pull out several people stranded at different places.
