This development in the monsoon situation is expected to remain for the next 4-5 days. Apart from this, a weak western disturbance is hovering over the western Himalayas, while a cyclonic circulation remains over northwestern Uttar Pradesh.
Relief expected from scorching heat and humidity
The combined effect of these weather systems is likely to increase rainfall in Punjab, Haryana, Delhi, Rajasthan and western Uttar Pradesh. Skymet has forecast active monsoon conditions across northwest India, including the western Himalayas, for at least the next week. The rain is expected to bring relief from the scorching heat and humidity troubling North India. As the rainy season progresses, the rain deficit is likely to reduce to a great extent.
Clouds will rain from Punjab-Haryana to Delhi-UP
According to Skymet, today, on July 27, moderate to heavy rain is possible in Konkan and Goa, Vidarbha and parts of Madhya Pradesh. Odisha, Chhattisgarh, East Rajasthan, South Gujarat and Kerala may receive light to moderate rain with heavy rain at some places. Moderate rain is possible in Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Punjab, Haryana, Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Jharkhand, West Bengal, Sikkim, Northeast India, Odisha, Telangana, Gujarat and western parts of Rajasthan. Light rain is possible in Ladakh, Saurashtra and Kutch, interior Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu and Lakshadweep.
Rain in Delhi throughout the week
