Congress angry over PM Modi’s post on social media, issues notice of breach of privilege

Congress has given a notice of breach of privilege against Prime Minister Narendra Modi. PM Modi has shared Anurag Thakur’s allegedly controversial speech on social media. After which the party has given this notice of breach of privilege against PM Modi.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi shared the video of Anurag Thakur’s speech in the Lok Sabha and wrote, this speech has been given by my young and energetic colleague Anurag Thakur, it must be heard. It has facts, humor and exposes the dirty politics of India Alliance.

After PM Modi shared this video on social media, Congress MP Charanjit Singh Channi has given a notice of breach of privilege against PM Modi.

The video shows the controversial speech given by BJP MP Anurag Thakur in the Lok Sabha. Senior MP Charanjit Singh Channi, who is also the former Chief Minister of Punjab, has raised this issue by writing a letter to Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla.

In his letter, Channi said that the Prime Minister has also shared the comments in Anurag Thakur’s speech which have been removed from the proceedings of the House in the video he posted. Channi said that it is shocking to see that the Prime Minister tweeted the deleted portions on ‘X’ along with the entire speech.

Let us tell you that the controversy started in the House on Tuesday when Thakur and Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi had a debate over the absence of OBCs and Dalits among those preparing the budget. Thakur had mentioned Rahul’s caste during their conversation.

In his letter, Channi, citing parliamentary rules, argued that including the deleted words in social media posts is a breach of privilege and contempt of the House.

He demanded that privilege proceedings be initiated against Modi. Channi wrote that this is clearly a breach of privilege and contempt of the House. The way Anurag Thakur made a statement on Rahul Gandhi, there was a lot of uproar in the Lok Sabha.
