If the vehicles do not have PUC at the petrol pumps, they will be given a few hours’ time to get the pollution check done. If the PUC is not made in this time period, an e-challan of Rs 10,000 will be automatically deducted.
PUC Certificate Valid in Petrol Pump: The government has made PUC (Pollution Under Control) test mandatory for filling petrol in vehicles. If you go to fill petrol in your vehicle without PUC, then you are sure to be fined Rs 10,000.
The Delhi government has given a tender to a private company to install cameras and software for PUC testing at 100 petrol pumps. Due to this, Navgati Tech Company has to start its services within 15 days.
E-challan of Rs 10,000 will be deducted
Regarding this, the Transport Department official says that the company has been asked to prepare a system for PUC testing within 15 days, the cost of which is estimated to be Rs 6 crore.
Under this scheme, if the vehicles coming to the petrol pumps do not have a valid PUC, then a few hours will be given for pollution check and if the PUC is not made within this time period, then an e-challan of Rs 10,000 will be automatically deducted and the information will be sent to the vehicle owner on his mobile.
The camera will find out everything by scanning
Along with this, the transport officer also says that the cameras will scan the number plate and find out whether the vehicle has a valid PUC or not. Actually, vehicles are tested from time to time for the emission standards of various pollutants like carbon monoxide (CO) and carbon dioxide (CO2), after which they are given a PUC certificate.
Many people escape getting caught because they use the vehicle locally, but now with the technology being installed in petrol pumps, these people will not be able to dodge.
