New Ring Roads: Government will build new ring roads in five divisions in this state, proposal to the center

Under this, the Yogi government is preparing to give new ring roads and bypasses to five divisions of the state soon. A proposal in this regard was prepared last year and sent to the central government. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath recently met Union Road Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari and talked about this. Currently, the work of building new ring roads is going on in 12 out of 18 divisions of the state, while it has already been completed in Lucknow division. Apart from this, the state government has sent a proposal to the Center to build ring roads in the remaining five divisions. As soon as the green signal is received from the Center, the way for ring roads will be paved in all the divisions of the state.

Currently, the work of ring road is in progress in Gorakhpur and Kanpur divisions. Apart from this, work on some parts of ring road in Agra, Chitrakoot, Meerut, Prayagraj, Varanasi has been completed and work is going on in the new phase. Similarly, the work of ring road in Basti division has been approved. At the same time, the ring road of Ayodhya division has got the green signal from the cabinet.

Apart from this, the DPR work for the ring road in Bareilly division has been completed, while the work of the northern part of the ring road is going on in Azamgarh and Moradabad divisions. Thus, work on ring road is progressing at a fast pace in 12 divisions of the state, while Lucknow division has already got the facility of ring road.

The Yogi government is now preparing to build ring roads in the remaining five divisions of the state, Aligarh, Devipatan, Jhansi, Mirzapur and Saharanpur divisions. Apart from this, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has also requested the Union Minister for new bypasses in 14 districts of the state.

It is worth noting that there is already a bypass facility in 53 districts of the state. Apart from this, the construction work of bypasses is progressing at a fast pace in eight districts. At the same time, the exercise to build bypasses in 14 districts Farrukhabad, Auraiya, Bulandshahr, Mainpuri, Bahraich, Gonda, Baghpat, Chitrakoot, Mirzapur, Bhadohi, Sambhal, Kaushambi, Chandauli and Shravasti has intensified.

In 2017, there were 48 national highways in UP, which have increased to 93 by 2024. At the same time, the length of national highways in 2017 was about 8 thousand kilometers, which has increased to about 13 thousand kilometers in 2024. Similarly, in 2017, there was only one expressway in the state, which will increase to 6 by 2024. The 165 km long expressway in the state in 2017 will become 1225 km in 2024. At the same time, the work of many link expressways including Ganga Expressway is also being completed rapidly.
