The fun of Janmashtami has doubled due to 5 consecutive days of holiday in 67 districts of Uttar Pradesh. Due to the UP Police Constable Recruitment Exam, 5 days holiday has been declared in many districts.
The month of August was full of holidays. Due to rain, schools remained closed for several days in between (August Holiday List). Festivals like Independence Day and Rakshabandhan were also celebrated in this month. There was a chance to celebrate long weekends on both these occasions. Janmashtami Holiday: Long weekend again on Janmashtami
This year, the holy festival of Krishna Janmotsav i.e. Janmashtami will be celebrated on 26th August. Since 26th August is Monday, it has become a long weekend for school-college going children as well as office going people (Long Weekend in August). Actually, most of the schools-colleges and offices have holidays on Saturday-Sunday. Those whose weekend is of two days, Saturday-Sunday, have got 3 consecutive days of holiday by getting holiday on Monday as well.
UP schools will remain closed for 5 days
UP Police Constable Recruitment Exam is being conducted in Uttar Pradesh. This exam will be held between 23 to 31 August. More than 46 lakh candidates have applied for recruitment to 60244 vacant posts of constable in UP Police. 1174 centers have been set up for UP Police Recruitment Exam. In the 67 districts of Uttar Pradesh where schools have been made examination centers, holiday has been declared for children for 5 days. 81 schools are closed in Lucknow alone.
