Electricity Bill Recharge: Electricity consumers will get great relief with the installation of prepaid smart meters in UPPCL Etawah. Now consumers will be able to see the information of electricity consumption and load on their mobile phones. Also, the amount of electricity they will get depends on the amount of recharge they do. Smart meters will be installed at more than 2.5 lakh consumers’ places. Along with this, information about how much electricity is being consumed will also be updated.
Electricity Bill Recharge: Prepaid smart meters will be installed in the district, it has started. After the installation of these meters, consumers as well as the electricity department will get relief. After the installation of prepaid smart meters, now consumers will be able to see the complete information on their mobile phones about how much electricity is being consumed in the house every day and how much load is coming.
Along with this, the information about how much electricity is being spent will also be updated. Also, the more recharge you do, the more electricity you will get.
On Wednesday, prepaid smart meters of Genus Company were installed in the feeders of Ramleela electricity substation of the city area and they were started. After the smart meter was installed, it was garlanded by Assistant Engineer Meter Vivek Kumar Singh, Junior Engineer Rajkamal and representatives of Genus Companies.
Smart meters will be installed at the homes of 2.5 lakh consumers
The electricity supply system in the district is operated by three distribution blocks. There are a total of 56 power sub-stations in these three blocks and the department has started installing meters by making a policy to install smart meters on 263 feeders related to them. Apart from this, smart meters will be installed at the homes of more than 2.5 lakh consumers. These consumers include domestic, commercial and industrial connection holders.
The electricity department is not able to collect the outstanding bills and there are many consumers who do not consider it appropriate to pay the bill after getting the connection. After the installation of prepaid smart meters, it will be recharged like a mobile phone. Just as calls stop coming after the balance in a mobile phone runs out, similarly the power will go off when the balance in the prepaid smart meter runs out.
After sub-stations, smart meters will be installed on transformers and then at consumers’ places
First of all, a smart meter will be installed on every feeder in the electricity sub-stations and after the meters are installed on 263 feeders, smart meters will be installed on transformers, but these meters will not be prepaid but only smart. After the meters are installed at these places, the turn of the consumers will come and then along with the survey, prepaid meters will be installed at the consumers’ places.
Bhupendra Singh, Deputy Manager of Jaipur-based company Genus Infra, said that the smart meters to be installed on the feeders will be installed in 15 days and after that meters will be installed on transformers.
Manoj Kumar Gaur, Superintending Engineer, Electricity Distribution, said that the work of installing smart meters in the district is being done through Genus Company. After the installation of these meters, the consumer will get electricity as much as the amount he spends. A message will be sent to the consumer’s phone before the recharge gets over in the prepaid smart meter. If the recharge gets over on a holiday, there will be no power cut on that day. Consumers can recharge themselves through the app on their mobile phones and the department has a strategy to provide 24-hour electricity.
