In this article, we are going to tell the complete step-by-step process of transferring the voter ID card to the new address online.

These documents will be required

  • The Election Commission of India has provided the facility to transfer the voter ID card to a new address online. For this you will need some documents.
  • Utility bill (water, gas, electricity) should be dated within the last one year.
  • Aadhaar card
  • Current passbook from a nationalized or scheduled bank or post office
  • Indian passport
  • Land-ownership records from the Revenue Department, including Kisan Bahi
  • Registered lease or rent deed
  • Registered sale deed
  • Must have a registered account on the National Voter Service Portal

These steps have to be followed

Step 1- First of all you have to go to the National Voter Service Portal (NVSP) website.

Step 2- On the home page itself, you will find ‘Shifting of residence’, in which you have to tap on fill form 8 and fill it.

Step 3- Now click on ‘Self’ and enter the EPIC number and submit.

Step 4- Here you have to review your voter details and then click on ‘Shifting of Residence’.

Step 5- Some important details have to be filled in Form 8. Which includes state, district, assembly, Aadhaar number, mobile number, email and new address, address proof document, declare information, enter captcha code, proceed for review and submit.

Step 6- After filling Form 8, the application reference number will be sent to the registered mobile number and email.

Step 7- After a few days you will be able to download the digital voter ID card from the NVSP portal.
