How do I get UAN?

If you work in a company that comes under the purview of EPFO, then after joining the job, it will open your PF account and give you a UAN number. This is only for those who join the job for the first time. If you change jobs, then only a new PF account will be opened in the new company. The UAN number will remain the same as before. However, you can merge it with the help of UAN.

What if you forgot UAN?

  • UAN is of 12 digits. If you have not saved it somewhere, then the chances of forgetting it are very high. However, the method of recovering UAN is also very easy.
  • Go to the UAN website https://unifiedportal-mem.epfindia.gov.in/memberinterface/.
  • Go to Important Links on the right hand side and click on Know your UAN.
  • Enter your registered mobile number and captcha code and click on Request OTP.
  • An OTP will be sent to your registered number. Enter the OTP and captcha code and click on Validate OTP.
  • Now enter your full name, date of birth, Aadhaar or PAN and captcha code and click on Show My UAN.
  • As soon as you click on Show My UAN, your Universal Account Number will appear on the screen.
