Telecom Regulatory Authority of India is implementing new rules from today i.e. 1st October. The purpose of these new rules is to provide better facilities to the users, protect them from spam calls and identify the availability of network in their area. Let us know what are the new rules of TRAI.
Information about network availability in your area
Different networks are provided by telecom companies at different places. Network availability in one area may be different from another area. In such a situation, under the new rule, users will be able to get this information on their phone itself. With the introduction of TRAI’s new rule, users will now be able to find out which networks are available in their area.
A list of fraud numbers will be made
New rules have also been brought by TRAI to stop spam calls and SMS. Under the new rule of TRAI, telecom companies will have to prepare a separate list of spam calls, so that fraud calls can be stopped.
Apart from this, from October 1, all users will receive only secure URL based links through SMS. TRAI has made it mandatory for all telecom companies to send only secure URL based links to users. Many times you click on such links through SMS which are fraudulent. In such a case, clicking on the link can lead to fraud with you. Under TRAI’s new rule, this will be banned.
